Faversham Golf Club upgrades steps around the course

Recently, Faversham Golf Club’s course manager, Paul Smith, found that the steps around the course were looking like they were needing a bit of ‘TLC’. The sleepers that had previously been installed were beginning to rot and the AstroTurf cover was becoming unsightly and ripped, and as a result, the steps were becoming a health hazard.

The greenkeepers decided to do some research for companies that provided protective covers for sleepers and they came across GripClad, which provides anti-slip solutions, and so they contacted the company to see how it could help.

GripClad was able to supply anti-slip sheets which were very easy to fit, the full job of repairing all the sleepers was completed in a couple of days.

After the anti-slip sheets were installed, members of the club have been very impressed by the look of the new steps, so much so that Faversham Golf Club is looking at replacing some of the other steps around the course.

Paul says that he would recommend looking at GripClad if you need to replace or cover any existing stairs / steps around a golf course in future.
