While the team at Links Golf Club in Newmarket are enjoying the efficiency and versatility of their new G-261 ride-on mower and L-1452 compact tractor from Kubota, head greenkeeper Simon Corrigan is further enjoying the peace of mind that comes with the club’s purchase of ‘Kubota Care’. Since the delivery in August 2023, the G-261 in particular has been put to good use collecting leaves and cutting grass in more delicate areas around the course, and that performance is assured today and for the next five years with expert servicing and technical support from their local approved Kubota dealer.

The pair were installed as part of a fleet package from George Browns Ltd at the 18-hole heathland venue – one of the oldest and most challenging courses in Cambridgeshire and boasting stunning views of the famous Newmarket Racecourses and gallops. “With autumn approaching, these two Kubota vehicles have arrived just in time!” Simon explained last year. “The Kubota G-261 is already proving to be highly versatile, not only giving us fantastic cut quality and finish between trees and around greens and tees, but we’re also using this daily to quickly and effectively collect leaves from the perimeter areas.”

Whether grass is tall or dense, wet or dry, the 54” mid-mounted deck on the G-261 guarantees outstanding mowing performance, with powerful airflow between the machine and large-capacity collector ensuring accurate collection of clippings, leaves or other debris without clumping.

“The L-1452 is also going to be bringing new versatility for us, replacing a utility vehicle we were using to tow trailers and move implements. At 45hp, we’ll be able to utilise this with a 400L sprayer on the back, or in conjunction with some of our more power-hungry implements such as the Verti-Drain to improve results while saving on time and labour.”

In addition to the standard two-year warranty, both machines were further protected with Kubota’s extended parts and labour warranty scheme, ‘Kubota Care’. “We took out ‘Kubota Care’ for complete peace of mind that we can use the machines daily and always have the back-up, servicing and support in place to keep them running at their best.”

Simon continues, “It all-but guarantees our costs for the next five years, ensuring the preventative maintenance takes place and that any repairs and all servicing are completed with genuine Kubota parts and lubricants. Come the end of that period, we know that with the full approved-dealer service history we could keep them for another term or that they’ll hold greater value for part-exchange or resale.”
