The West Sussex-based, luxury country house hotel and spa, Park House, has appointed Jonathan Day as its new head greenkeeper.

With over 23 years greenkeeping experience, Jonathan was most recently the course manager at Woking Golf Club in Surrey, a position he had held for the last 14 years. During his time at Woking, he project managed numerous developments and so joins Park House with a wealth of experience.

At Park House, Jonathan will look after all the sportsturf within the ten acre site which includes a six-hole, 18-tee, par three golf course, a nine-hole putting green, two bowls lawns, two grass tennis courts and a croquet lawn. His brief is to maximise the quality of these facilities for all to enjoy, with the golf course open year-round and the other facilities from April to the end of September.

Known as The Oaks, the golf course opened in 2006.

Commented general manager, Sarah Stacey, “We are delighted that Jonathan has joined us and he is already working hard to improve the turf quality as we hope to encourage more of our guests and visitors to play the course next year. We are also looking to open it up to non-resident guests in 2018 for pro coaching sessions, courses and competitions as it is a great short course, in a stunning location and we want more golfers to enjoy it.”
