You’ve decided what size petrol tank you want but what pump is best for dispensing?

First thing to think is how much petrol will you be dispensing.

Hand pumps offer the ease of ‘drop and go’. No electrics required and fast installation.

But there is also electric options providing a host of benefits including faster delivery speeds and ease of use. But some considerations need to be made.

Small electric pumps normally have a duty cycle. This means the pump can be used for limited amount of time before its needs to be left to ‘cool down’. The majority of small pumps offer a 30 minute cycle; 30 minutes of use, 30 minutes of rest.

If you require heavier use The Petrol Tank Company offers a continuous duty small pump that requires no rest period available.

Do you have mains access? The Petrol Tank Company has options for 240v and 12v pumping. So if you don’t have mains power then 12v is an option. For multiple users and if high delivery speed is required a forecourt pump is an option. These can also be sighted remotely from the tank if you filling area wants to be away from your fuel storage area.

All of the electric pumps can be used with various lengths of hose reel.

Tracking your can be simplified by using fuel management system. These options offer a whole host of features from timed dispensing to remote monitoring. The systems can even order your fuel for you when your running low!

The Petrol Tank Company’s modular petrol tanks mean that you can swap your pump at a later date. You may be using more petrol than you were doing when you ordered that hand pump, 30 mins later your have a brand new electric pump doing the work.
