In the lead up to The Ryder Cup, the grounds crew at PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles used Farmura and Aquatrols products as the back bone of their fertility and soil conditioning programme.

The products used in preparation for the Ryder Cup were Farmura Porthcawl (50 liters per hectare every 14 days) tank mixed with Farmura Premium K, Potash Plus, and a ‘nip’ of Ferrosol. This mix offered great presentation value on the poa / bent greens without producing growth flushes.

Soil moisture management is always a priority given the location of the site. To these ends, Aquatrols Revolution is added to the mix for the greens and fore greens, enabling the Gleneagles staff to manage soil moisture in the profile to the best of their ability.

The course has been widely praised by the golfing community for both performance and presentation.

“We place great value in building a strong working relationship with the team at Gleneagles. The dedication and hard work of the staff and volunteers is a credit to them and helped to ensure worldwide acclaim,”  commented Graham O’Connor, area sales manager for Farmura.

Aquatrols is the world leader in the development of cutting-edge soil surfactants and other speciality technologies used in the professional turf, ornamental, and agricultural industries. The PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles is a perennial favourite. The course was designed by legendary golfer and course architect, Jack Nicklaus, back in 1993. In 2011 Nicklaus made a number of changes to the course in anticipation of The Ryder Cup coming to Gleneagles, ensuring a spectacular course for years to come. Today the course is one to challenge the best and thrill anyone who plays on it – truly a course for the players.
