Market-leading when it comes to research and development into sustainable technology for fine turf machinery, with Toro you can choose from hybrid and all-electric options for cutting grounds, greens, tees and fairways and for general maintenance duties.

Here we take a look at two of the brand’s leading machines showcasing hybrid mowing technology in a riding greensmower and all-electric technology in a pedestrian mower, exclusively available from distributor Reesink Turfcare.

Toro Greensmaster hybrid 3360 riding greensmower

The Greensmaster eTriFlex 3360 is powered by a Kawasaki engine / generator, but utilises all-electric components for traction, steering, lift and cutting units. It bridges the gap between petrol and all-electric, and marries up the benefits of each perfectly.

• All-electric cylinder drive
In addition to eliminating hydraulic leaks, each cylinder motor has a nominal 1.5 horsepower (1.1 kW). This translates into the power you need when you need it for unparalleled performance in your most challenging cutting applications.

• Stored energy
Eliminates clip marks at the startup of a mowing pass and provides braking power to stop the cylinders from spinning when the cutting units are disengaged for safer operation.

• No hydraulics
With traction, lift, steering, and cylinder drive all being electric, there are no hydraulics on this ride-on greensmower. Leaks or even the risk of hydraulic leaks are a thing of the past.

• Fuel savings
The eTriFlex 3360 provides up to 20
percent fuel savings over comparable Triplex mowers.

• Tool-free, quick-change cutting units
The tool-free, quick-change cutting units mean a single operator can go from cutting greens at 3.2mm to tees units in just minutes.

• Whisper-quiet operation
The 3360 eTriFlex models runs at 73 dBA which minimises early morning disturbances and results in 50 percent lower perceived bystander noise level.

• Speed dependent cylinder drop and even cut line
When the operator is raising or lowering the cutting units while in motion, the onboard computer system calculates the exact timing to raise/lower the rear cutting unit in order to match the cut line of the front two cutting units. This allows for consistent and precise cutting manoeuvres from green to green.

• DPA cutting units
The most advanced cutting unit in the industry, these patented units need only two adjustments, no daily greasing and only the smallest bedknife increment adjustments of 0.178mm. And when it comes to the cut, it brings a consistent cutting edge regardless of cylinder wear and superior height-of-cut retention.

• Radius Dependent Speed (RDS) system
Topping the list of features that set the eTriFlex Series apart is Toro’s patent-pending RDS system. It’s gentle on turf and minimises the triplex ring effect like no other riding mower on the market. That’s because each cylinder maintains a consistent clip rate across all three cutting units, regardless of the shape of your greens.

Toro Greensmaster e1021 pedestrian mower

The latest addition in Toro’s line-up of all-electric mowers takes the Greensmaster – a name that’s synonymous with excellence – and adds to it an advanced lithium-ion battery.

Now, this fixed-head mower takes electrical efficiency to a new level, allowing operators to mow up to 35,000 square feet of turf on a single charge. It’s among the quietest and most efficient walk greensmowers on the market today.

• Proven lithium-ion technology
Battery capacity with ample power and run time to mow up to 35,000 square feet. Balanced battery management and on-board electronics monitor the mower to automatically optimise battery life.

• Tool-free cutting unit removal
Changing cutting units is simple with the tool-free quick-change levers. Easily swap out cutting units in seconds and minimise maintenance downtime.

• Telescoping handle
Adjustable to five distinct handle positions and engineered to accommodate operators of different heights for mowing in a natural upright position. Leads to less fatigue and a superior cut.

• Handle isolation mounts
Two rubber grommets eliminate minor oscillations in the height-of-cut caused by walking strides. Delivers a consistent cutting height on each and every green for optimal playability.

• Durable gear drive transmission
Provides long life and best-in-class transmission durability. Lubricated for life and no grease points.
