Woodbridge Golf Club has completed a major project on its heath course.

All the bunkers have been refurbished – with 12 completely re-built in a six week period, and 400 tonnes of new buckbricks natural sand added.

Not content with just the bunker programme, the club also had contractors on site to remove gorse, scrub and trees in accordance with its long term strategic plan and in association with an STRI agronomist.

The two golf courses, set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near the Suffolk coast, have received excellent reviews from both members and visitors for the work carried out.

Sean Clark, club secretary, stated: “This is everything and more we could have wished for and yet is just part of the ongoing improvements and investment the club is making to improve the courses and facilities for both members and guests.

“We are continually improving our courses and although a consistent performer in the ‘Top 100 England’ rankings, we have aspirations to make it into the top 50. One thing is for sure though; everyone receives a warm welcome at Woodbridge and will not be disappointed by what the club has to offer.”
